Utah Water Damage Construction In The Modern-Day World – The Energy Crisis

3:52 am by . Filed under: Culture

Everyone’s seen them; massive holes in the ground which will one day be huge skyscrapers or studio complexes. You watch and watch, and it looks like the building never gets done. With how fast paced the world is today, this can be a huge issue; primarily if folks have already bought office space or residences in buildings that aren’t going to be finished for six or seven years.

A few of the people blame lazy construction employees for how long some construction jobs take, but that’s not actually where the blame lies; at least not completely. There’s a worldwide energy crisis taking place, which oftentimes deters construction employees from even being authorized to work during certain hours of the day in some cities and states. This isn’t just true in the US; this is across the world.

Noise complaints also keep construction men from being allowed to work certain hours. One construction company is Utah home builders , and they need to handle these issues just as the other construction companies do. Different construction companies find alternate ways to cope with this issue. Some use more affordable kinds of energy, green energy sources, and try very hard to minimize their carbon print. Others attempt to work at night, though this is only authorized in certain places and at certain times.

Do not think Utah builders is the only construction company struggling with this issue. While the energy crisis has reduced as of late, all companies, construction and otherwise, have to address and deal with the crisis at some point, or they risk going into bankruptcy due to rising energy costs and laws regarding when they can and cannot work.

The businesses that seem to have been hit the hardest by the energy crisis include construction companies and companies which use many computers in one place at once. These classes cover almost any job in the modern computer-oriented world.

Ode to a Small Indiana Town Remembered

4:09 pm by . Filed under: Culture

Those were different times when politicians were valued for their efforts to fund, facilitate, and clear obstacles for community projects like new schools, new water towers, expanded sewer systems, etc. instead of their interest in regulating bedroom activities and marriage, and oil in the middle-east.  It was a time when there were lots of independent merchants, farm families, and mechanics.  When the merchants and farmers would get together for hunting and fishing trips, and the school band marched in local fairs, festivals, and memorial days.  When the merchants sponsored street fairs and festivals, and everyone belonged to a lodge of some kind, and most to some form of card playing club.

And it was a time for local political struggle over the school district, a struggle which caused local leaders to focus on luring in industries, expanding industrial parks, and building new school buildings.  Kids bicycled all over town.  Teenagers got drunk and parked.  Some kids went off to college others stayed home, most thought life would pretty much go on as it always had.

Limits of a business plan society: abandoned school buildings

4:22 am by . Filed under: Culture

Since the Reagan era, America has been caught up in the concept that business management is the ideal method of running everything from religion, schools, prisons, and government.  Unfortunately, it isn’t.

We could go on and on about the evils that are becoming more and more apparent from privatization of prisons, or how the commercialization of religion has sent it off the rails.  But I would like to stick to one particular example that I have been confronted with of late.

As those familiar with business plans know, central to the business plan is the so-called “mission statement”.  The “mission statement” allows the company to focus on what it is all about.  But, it can also put blinders on an entity which are deleterious to society.

For example, in a recent discussion of what to do about a school building that had been vacated, for the most part, by the school system, it was indicated that the school building should be abandoned because the “mission” of the schools was to educate the youth and all of the resources of the school should be marshalled and applied to carrrying out that mission.  The implication being that the particular building no longer served that purpose so it should in essence simply be discarded.

Discarded without the school exerting any effort to make sure that the building was successfully converted into some other use, or even torn down.  Kind of like the primary mission of a human was to feed its body and when something no longer served that purpose one could just roll down the windo and throw the soda can, or hamburger wrapper out the window.
